The Department of Multimedia and Internet Technology is one of the Departments in the Information Technology Discipline of Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE). Its major focus is on the multimedia, entertainment and information technology applications in various industry sectors. The Department offers both full-time and part-time courses in different levels including Top-up Degree, Higher Diploma, Foundation Diploma and Applied Learning Programmes.
All courses emphasize on both theory and application. A variety of teaching and training methods such as lectures, visits, laboratory work, workshop practices, case studies and supervised projects are used for the delivery of the course to give students good understanding of basic concepts and principles. Students are trained in teamwork as well as impressed upon the importance of communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Course Duration: 180 hours

Course Aims

This course aims at developing students' creativity, communication skills and problem-solving skills, as well as equipping them with the knowledge and skills of manipulating different media so that they can apply them to the design and production of computer games, animations and audio-visual effects. Students may choose, according to their personal interest, "Computer Game Design", "Computer Animation Design" or "Entertainment Audio-Visual Effects" as their electives.
